RTÉ Apologise for Cosmo ‘Mistake’

RTÉ Pulse have issued an apology to listeners of new radio show for the gay & lesbian community, “The Cosmo,” for ‘technical errors’ during the show’s broadcast on the 10th of December.

The show – due to have started at 8pm – failed to commence at the scheduled time. When it did more than an hour later, the show’s content was drowned out by an ‘automation feed,’ i.e. a standby playlist of music.

Dave Timpson, scheduler of RTÉ Pulse, apologised for the error, stating that it resulted due to an unexpected error during an attempt to improve RTÉ’s digital broadcasting server. The show’s presenter/producer, Scott De Buitléir, assured that the following week’s broadcast would be fully back to normal from 8pm.

The show can be heard on the DAB service, or by logging onto www.rte.ie/digitalradio/pulse
